the angels keep you till morning,
May they guide you through the night,
May they comfort all your sorrows,
they help you win the fight.
they keep watch on your soul,
May they show you better ways,
May they guard you while you're sleeping,
they see you through your days.
they show you new hopes,
they still your every doubt,
May they calm your every fear,
May they hear you when
the angels keep you till morning,
More than this, I cannot pray,
And if the angels ever fail you,
may God be there that day.
You are the Angel who I cherish.
So dearly in this heart of mine;
The one who makes my day brighter,
By making my whole world shine.
During all the darkest moments,
When my skies turn cloudy and grey;
You're the one who touches my heart,
And makes everything seem okay.
I count my blessings that I have,
An angel like you, so close at hand;
A friend who always watches over me,
Someone who can always understand.
If I need someone who I can turn to,
You are always right there beside me;
Giving so much of yourself each time,
To guide me to the light, so I can see.
We are all assigned a Guardian Angel,
And I'm so glad God chose you as mine;
He knew that whenever I needed his love,
You would be an Angel to me every time.
letter from Heaven
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is
just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning,
noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through.
God picked me up and hugged me and
He said, "I welcome you."
"It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest
family, They'll be here later on.
I need you here so badly, you are part of my plan.
There is so much that we can
do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list,
was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest
to you.... in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give
unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who is in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say
to God at night...."My day was not in vain.
And now I am contented... that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I
passed along the way I made somebody smile."
So if you meet somebody who is sad and low;
Just lend a hand to pick
them up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free.
you're not going.... you're coming here with me.
Through my tears, I see
an unadorned hand reaching out.
my pain, I feel
the soft touch of a feather.
Then I hear,
soft whisp of a whisper.
A voice as I have never heard before,
"Cry not . . . I am
I have always been here,
and forever will be here."
and find nothing.
Yet I feel the comfort
of being wrapped
I feel the soft touch of a feather,
And I know . . .
am wrapped in the wings of an Angel.
- Beverlyn Bates
Angels of light, spread your bright wings
keep near me at morn.
Nor in the starry eve, not midnight deep,
Leave me forlorn.
all dark spirits of unholy power
Guard my weak heart,
Circle around me in each perilous
And take my part.
From all foreboding thoughts and dangerous fears,
Teach me to hope, and through the bitterest tears
Still to endur.
lonely in the road so fair and wide
My feet should stray.
Then through a roughter,
safer pathway guide
Me day by day.
Should my heart faint at its unequal strife,
still be near!
Shadow the perilous sweetness of this life
With holy fear.
leave me not alone in this bleak world,
Where'er I roam.
And at the end, with your
bright wings unfurled,
O take me home!
- Adelaide A. Proctor
When the chant was done, and lingering
upon the evening air,
From the hill the radiant Angels
Still were listening there.
Silent came the gathering
Bringing with it sleep and rest.
Save a little bird was singing
Near her leafy nest.
Through the sounds
of war and labor
She had warbled all day long,
While the Angels leant and listened
Only to her song.
But the starry
night was coming
When she ceased her little lay,
From the mountaintop the Angels,
Slowly passed away.
Angels at Our Side
"From glory unto glory,"
without a shade
Because the Lord who loves us
will every burden bear.
Because we trust Him fully,
and know that He will
And know that blessed Angels
Are watching at our side.
